A Corner With was a series of exhibitions taking place in our studio in Dalston in London. Each artists was invited a month before the launch evening, to use the studio space as their studio and create new work. Sketches of the floor plan was asked by each artists to see how ideas and the space transforms.
The exhibition present Yoshi Kametani project '945° C' which is a survey into layers upon layers of destruction. Combining the physical damage caused by the fire with the digital corruption of the recorded file, the work ponders the line between beauty and violence, and creation and decay, with entropy being at its core.
Yoshi Kametani was born in New York City and is currently based in London. Working across media including photography, installation, and moving image, Kametani’s practice is characteristic of a non-hierarchical approach to materials. Parallel to his individual practice, Kametani also collaborates with other artists and collectives, challenging the idea of authorship. His work has been published in multiple monographs and he has exhibited internationally.
